Welcome Kellan!

After 39 weeks and 5 days of waiting, we welcomed our son, Kellan Ikaika Paek, to the world. A 7 lbs. 7 oz. and 19.5" screaming bundle of joy :)

His name means 'slender' in gaelic and 'strong' in hawaiian. We hope he will eventually live up to his name. But we'll still love him even if he's an obese wimp :)

Both mommy and baby are healthy and we're slowly adjusting to our new life. The dogs aren't quite sure what to make of him yet, but are being good sports about the transition, including the late night screamfests.

2 days old and ready to rock!!

2029 1st round draft pick.

Three's Company

Actually it should be more like Five's Company, if you include the dogs. In any case, the Paek clan is about to expand! We're expecting a baby boy early 2011! Luckily he'll squeeze into the "white" tiger class of the current lunar year.

"According to Chinese Five Element Astrology Calendar, 2010 is the Year of Metal Tiger . Gold is related to Metal and money. People who like to talk about wealth will say that 2010 is a Golden Tiger year. In Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) theory, the color representing metal is White. Therefore, we also can say that 2010 is the Year of White Tiger. The White Tiger is connected to the symbol of jinx in China history. Some Chinese might consider that 2010 White Tiger is a bad year.

Ok, so maybe it's not a good thing. He'll only be 7/32 Chinese anyway :) Here's the father's day card we sent to our dads to tell them they'd be grandpas soon.

Farewell 2009, Hello 2010

Below is our holiday e-card from this year. We were too late/lazy to send a real card, but I think e-card is the way to go from now on. We get a lot more responses this way and are able to initiate a conversation with the recipients rather than a one-way monologue. Not to mention it saves money and trees.

The card provides a summary of our 2009 highlights. Stacy was worried that it sounded too pretentious, but isn't that the whole point? We wouldn't want to drag anyone down with the year's failures and disappointments, of which there were many.

One of our resolutions for 2010 is to keep this blog updated. We shall see!

2009 Wedding Recap

I know we haven't had a real update in ages... what's the point of having a blog just listing all the weddings you attended in the past year, right? I promise I'll post a more substantial update before the year ends. But for now, we want to give a shout out to all the newly married couples we got to celebrate with. Congratulations!!

I didn't think we would top last year, but I thought wrong. At least this year was spread out a lot more... last year was really back heavy. But whatever! We love weddings and more importantly, love having new married couples to kick it with :)

2008 Wedding Recap

Since this is still technically a "wedding website," we thought it would be nice to pay a tribute to all the weddings we were privileged to be a part of this year. We attended quite a few (September was particularly busy), with a lot more to come next year (we already have four lined up for 1Q 2009) - I guess we're just at that age. We wish every new couple the same joy and happiness that we've had... NOT! :)

If anything, this post can serve as a reminder for all the husbands on when their anniversary is :)
