Mud Run!!

Those usually aren't two words that go together (unless you're talking about some horribly abnormal bowel movements), but on one sizzling June morning, that's exactly what Stacy and I did. The Mud Run is held at Camp Pendelton and consists of running (or in our case, walking) 10k through a veritable gauntlet of forests, hills, walls, tunnels, rivers, lakes, tires and yes, mud pits. Most people spend months training for this type of event; we trained maybe for a week. The prospect of waking up at 5am to drive down to San Diego almost caused us to flake at the last minute, but after some words of encouragement from our friend Sung (who ran it the previous weekend), we mustered up the will power to drive down and attempt the race. Surprisingly, we were able to finish with a respectable time and had a blast doing it (although my left knee may never forgive me). Next year, we'll definitely have to get a team together.

Willy Wonka ain't got nothing on this.

Dorky expressions mean one thing: Victory!!
